Biography
Paul Damon was born in Iowa City, Iowa, in 1955,
and grew up in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. In 1981, he earned a bachelor's
degree in Biology and Chemistry from Northland College in Ashland,
Wisconsin, and went on to receive a Master of Landscape Architecture
degree from the University of Minnesota in 1993.
Paul was a partner in
Damon and Nadenicek Landscape Design in St. Paul, Minnesota. He
was also a project designer with Moriarty/Condon Landscape Architecture
and Planning in Minneapolis. He served as lecturer and adjunct
faculty in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University
of Minnesota from 1990–1996, teaching drawing, drafting,
and design.
Paul taught himself to paint by researching traditional
methods in the University library. He has been painting
professionally since 1996 and has worked part-time since 2002
at Wet Paint, an art supply store on Grand Avenue in St. Paul.
Paul has been married to lawyer and gardener, Susan,
since 1988. They live in a bungalow in St. Paul, with Monkwumpus
and their other feline friends. In their spare time, Paul and Susan
enjoy landscaping their urban lot with native Minnesota plants. |
